Happy New Year 2026 from the SKY Group.

Earlier today, Times of Malta reported a milestone for Malta’s innovation ecosystem: medical supplies (blood samples) were delivered by drone for the first time, flown from Saint James Hospital, Żejtun, to Sliema—covering 13.4km in 9 minutes 43 seconds and marking the start of commercial medical drone delivery operations. A year ago we were discussing what Malta could become. Today, Malta is doing it.

Over the past year, our teams have worked with hard work, dedication, and persistence—largely out of the spotlight—to build the operational discipline required for drone logistics to be more than a demonstration. Real impact requires repeatability: training, safety culture, robust procedures, and the ability to deliver consistently.

This milestone also reflects the SKY Group’s model in action:

  • SKY Think Tank serves as the developing brain in the back - turning emerging technologies into practical, responsible initiatives.
  • SKY Mobility (Malta) Ltd. is the authorised UAS operator—focused on disciplined safe execution and building a foundation that is fit for scale in 2026.
  • Flying ZERO / ZERO represents our commitment to real zero applications - work that serves people and planet and is meaningful, for a good purpose.

In 2026, we will continue to scale responsibly while advancing more innovative and sustainable initiatives -  with a clear focus on practical use cases where technology improves outcomes, strengthens resilience, and creates measurable value.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this journey. If you are exploring purpose-led logistics, healthcare pathways, or other high-value applications, we welcome partnerships and constructive dialogue.
